no more IT 01/01/08
This past summer I sat down and began to re-think my life and my career. This has led to a new direction for both my life and my business. As such, I would like to announce three major changes:
First, on October 1, after more than 6 years of service, I stepped down as a Youth Minister at the Arvada Church of Christ, in order to further develop my business and strengthen my career as a web developer.
Second, I have decided to focus my business and career around web development. Over the years, my web development skills have grown tremendously (thanks in large part to you and your business). I have found that web development is what I truly enjoy and what I am especially skilled at, so it is a natural focus for my career.
As such, I will no longer be providing IT support or services. As Windows marches on to Vista and beyond, I have no desire to keep up with the nuances and details of both hardware and software that IT work demands. I want to remain focused and start a great web development company.
Most of the services I perform (virus removal, crash recovery, etc.) can be easily accomplished by any quality computer service shop, including the new Geek Squad at Best Buy and firedog at Circuit City. Both companies have made significant efforts to improve the quality of their IT services in order to serve businesses as well as the personal market, and to a large degree have been successful.
I would also highly recommend PC City in Westminster. They are located at 88th and Marshall (in between Wadsworth and Sheridan). I've used them for many years, and have always been happy with both their service and their pricing.
I have spoken with Andy Francis, who is an IT Consultant for a couple of my web design clients, and he would be happy to assist you as well. I haven't worked with Andy and don't know much about his knowledge or skill set, so please interview him for yourself to see if he might be able to meet your IT consulting needs. His number is 303-275-0872.
